[AlternativeAnswers] Health

It has been said that doctors are the biggest drug pushers of all.
More people die from prescription drugs than from illegal drugs.
If you watch TV, take note - or do a Google search for all the lawsuits
- of all the problems caused by prescription drugs.
Why on earth would people on an Alternative answers list be pushing for
government health care? BTW, costs of health care have increased
considerably since government started taking control.

Here are the latest warnings for a new diabetes drug which is being
pushed by a TV chef.

> According to the prescribing information for Victoza
> <http://www.novo-pi.com/victoza.pdf> (*Liraglutide)*, there are a
> number of important warnings you need to be aware of, including a
> *black box warning
> <http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2010/022341lbl.pdf>*---the
> strongest warning issued by FDA---which states that:
> /"Liraglutide causes thyroid C-cell tumors at clinically relevant
> exposures in rodents. It is unknown whether Victoza® causes
> thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma
> (MTC), in humans, as human relevance could not be determined by
> clinical or nonclinical studies."/
> Furthermore, the web site for Victoza <http://www.victoza.com/>
> includes the following important warnings:
> /"It is not known whether Victoza® causes thyroid tumors or a type
> of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) in people
> which may be fatal if not detected and treated early. Do not use
> Victoza® if you or any of your family members have a history of
> MTC or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2
> (MEN 2). While taking Victoza®, tell your doctor if you get a
> lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or
> shortness of breath. These may be symptoms of thyroid cancer.///
> /Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis) may be severe and
> lead to death. Before taking Victoza®, tell your doctor if you
> have had pancreatitis, gallstones, a history of alcoholism, or
> high blood triglyceride levels since these medical conditions make
> you more likely to get pancreatitis. Stop taking Victoza® and call
> your doctor right away if you have pain in your stomach area that
> is severe and will not go away, occurs with or without vomiting,
> or is felt going from your stomach area through to your back.
> These may be symptoms of pancreatitis." /
Then do a search for all the deaths caused by prescription drugs.

Then think about whether you want Nanny government to control your
health when you can do it yourself.

Doctors are good for a few problems, like setting a broken arm, but the
cost of seeing one is high because of government intervention.

Don't bother to reply to this as I am leaving this list.
