Re: [AlternativeAnswers] itching!

First take a probiotic and eat a natural healthy diet. Drink plenty of
pure water. Try a baking soda bath for itchy dry skin. Pour 1/4 to 1/2 cup of
natural baking soda into a warm bath and soak. You can also add a
essential oil like Almond or Rose oil.

Difference of natural baking soda: It has to do with the way it is
processed. A brand like Bob's Red Mill, Frontier or other natural brands of baking
soda are mined directly from the ground in their natural sodium
bicarbonate state known as nahcolite. There are no chemical reactions, nothing added
or fiddled with. It's just pure sodium bicarbonate, the way the earth made
it.
Arm & Hammer baking soda and other store brands _uses a chemical reaction
process_ (http://www.armandhammer.com/FAQ/BakingSoda.aspx) through which
trona ore is mined, then heated until it turns into soda ash. Then the soda
ash is treated with carbon dioxide.
Try Virgin organic Coconut oil for ingestion and for topical use.
Recommendations for coconut oil intake try 1 tsp to 1 Tbsp. 3 times a day. Try
coconut oil on your face and body, apply it on damp skin for penetration.

Some people who have dry itchy skin have issues with their liver or
underactive thyroid. Medications, allergies, diet and supplement deficiencies can
cause dry skin conditions. Some people lack selenium, and need to eat
foods like brazil nuts and sweet potato. Also reduce sugar, caffeine, dairy
intake, avoid refined flour products, alcohol, and chemical processed foods. A
diet rich in Vitamin A, B, C and E is also a dry skin remedy as deficiency
of these vitamins lead to dry skin. If the dry skin is chronic and
continues maybe you should have your liver and thyroid checked.

Aloe Vera relieves dry itchy skin. The skin needs Omega-3 rich sources like
walnuts, flaxseeds and wild caught fish or natural fish oil supplements.
Omega 3 gives your body essential fatty acids to nurture your skin.

Chemical harsh bar soaps, moisturers, shampoos, deodorants cause dry skin.
They contain detergents that remove your skin's natural oils, leaving it
dry and more sensitive. Buy all natural products unscented fragrance free.

Eat foods such as garlic, onions, eggs, and asparagus that are high in
sulfur, which helps to keep the skin smooth and youthful. Vitamin rich A & C
foods like cantaloupes, strawberries, all berries, carrots, kiwi, butternut
squash, sweet potatoes, yams, kale and apricots are healing foods for dry
skin. Foods high in vitamin E include nuts and seeds, avocado, papaya,
mango, wheat germ, organic ground flaxseed/flaxseed oil, olives, dark leafy
greens like swiss chard, parsley, spinach and broccoli.
