Diet to fight Diabetes:
The plant-based foods are the most recommended diet for diabetes. Diabetes diet is called for control of carbohydrates intake and calories restricted diet portions. Firstly, they should start taking plant-based vegetarian diet with no animal products at all, as it interferes with the ability of insulin and increase the risk for heart disease, diabetes, kidney disorders, calcium losses, and cancer due to the presence of saturated fats. The proteins we need for maintenance of the body is readily available with vegan diet that includes whole grains, pulses and cereals, legumes, fruits and vegetables.
The use of vegetable oils should be minimized and high fat foods like animal foods such as red meat should be avoided totally. The amount of fats we need per day is easily available with the intake of plant based whole foods. Diet that rich in fiber is advised as we need 40 grams of fiber per day, which is available with whole wheat, quinoa, beans, barley, oats, whole grains, vegetables and fruits. The four food groups of unlimited whole grains, unrefined cereals, pulses, vegetables, fruits, legumes like lentils, peas, beans, non fat condiments, fruits salads and dressings, nuts and seeds could be added in the diet to fight diabetes effectively as per the study conducted by the Research scholars.
