Hello Rhonda and all,
I am glad that you brought this quote up, as it has been on my mind for some time now. I may be somehow obtuse but I fail to understand it entirely. I have been asking people around me and nobody was able to enlighten me. The "Let food be thy medicine" is obviously right. Here is my question: what does the second part mean? How do you explain the "let medicine be thy food"? What is the meaning of that? Judging by analogy with the first part of the statement what I understand is : eat medicine as if it were food. I am sure this is not what Hippocrates meant. But what did he mean? Anyone else is welcome to comment.

I sincerely believe this from Hippocrates: "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food"
