Cynthia, Just google eyelid, oil glands. You'll find plenty. My Dr simply pulled a book off her shelf and showed me. It's not uncommon. The tiny little oil glands are located along the lower base of the eyelashes, on the edge of the eyelid. As a child, my grandmother always used a warm teabag for sties... (allergy eyes!) don't know which healed better, warm moist compresses or her loving touch!
