Subject: [AlternativeAnswers] Any one living with "achalasia" ?
Hi every-one. I have been diagnosed with achalasia, some-thing which I have had difficulties with for over 30 years.
I just keep being told to: take this med...take that med....you know the drill of doctors these days.... been there, tried them , done it..and I'm tired of all of it.
Just wondering if an-one else suffers from this and how they manage in their daily life. Also would like to know if any-one has any suggestions as to alternative therapy which I might consider giving a go at?
Thank-you, looking forward to hearing from others who have this illness as well as those who might just like to suggest something.

I have it. No damn fun. Self treated for years. Last summer into fall, started regurgitating virtually everything I ate. Lost 60 pounds from June to September. Finally was diagnosed in ER. And spent five days in the cardiac unit while being rehydrated.
Alternative meds can *ameliorate* some of the symptoms, some times. For a while. Meanwhile the disease progresses, and destroys your esophagus. When/if that happens, you get to get an esophectomy. . . *DO NOT PLAY AROUND WITH THIS DISEASE.* It can kill you.
Bon courage.
