There is a plant, Crepe Jasmine, that contains Conolidine, a substance that is reported to be as effective against pain as morphine, but without the deadly side effects. The Scripps Institute is researching it. I asked them when it might be available to consumers. Their answer was, "Maybe some day."
One of the greatest failures of modern medicine is the lack of any safe pain control. Why has Conolidine not been presented to the FDA for fast-tracking? It could give hope to millions of suffering people.
I've been in pain for 35 years, almost half my life. I've tried everything, every pharmaceutical, every herbal remedy, to no avail. I'm 76 years old, and would like to live out my final years in relative comfort. If one of my cats suffered such chronic pain with no hope of relief, I'd have it humanely euthanized, out of kindness. "Maybe some day" is not good enough.
Meanwhile, does anyone know where one might find a reliable, affordable source for Crepe Jasmine extract, tincture, or raw herb? I've searched online & found nothing.
