I would insist that you are referred to an eye specialist. I had
these floaters for ages and didn't do anything about it, till my
optometrist was doing my annual eye check (needed new glasses) and
commented on spots on my retinas that may have been causing the
floaters, and may also have been a degenerative eye disease. This was
6 years ago now. I do have an eye disease, but it's not 'behaving'
like any specific disease, only that the spots on one retina are
growing ever so slightly. I have to go in every 6 months to the eye
specialist and have it assessed, as they want to monitor any changes.
They're the only eyes you've got, so take care of them!
