Re: [AlternativeAnswers] advice on glutathione for parkinsons disease

This is what I read on Parkinson Disease: Some causes of degenerative
nerve diseases include (but are not restricted to) the following factors. Heavy
Metal Toxity. B12 and Magnesium Deficiency. The B vitamins are very
important for brain and nerve function. Note: If you are taking L-dopa, talk to
your physician before taking any supplemental B vitamins, and do not take
additional vitamin B6, as this vitamin interferes with the action of L-dopa.

Consume foods, such as fruits and vegetables that contains glutathione or
can help produce it. Cyanohydroxybutene, a chemical found in broccoli,
cauliflower. Brussels sprouts and cabbage, is also thought to increase
glutathione levels. High intake of dairy products may lead to a higher incidence of
Parkinson's disease.

_N-acetyl-cysteine_ (http://www.raysahelian.com/acetylcysteine.html) is an
antioxidant that can help regenerate glutathione.
_Selenium_ (http://www.raysahelian.com/selenium.html) is an antioxidant
that can help increase levels of glutathione.
Omega-3 fatty acids can generally improve overall brain health. Evening
primrose oil and flaxseed oil contain valuable essential fatty acids (EFAs),
which are often deficient in people with Parkinson's disease.

_Gingko biloba_ (http://www.raysahelian.com/ginkgo.html) at 40 mg most
days with breakfast or lunch. This herb has antioxidant properties and helps
improve memory and alertness. Passion Flower is another natural treatment
for the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease. Originally, this herb was used as a
sedative, and as a treatment for insomnia. Since then, it has been found
that its harmaline alkaloids can help treat depression by raising the
dopamine level in the brain.

_Dementia_ (http://www.webmd.com/alzheimers/guide/alzheimers-dementia) is
common late in Parkinson's disease. Taurine is present at high
concentration in the mammalian brain in neurotransmission, helps memory, helps prevent
seizures.

Turmeric / Curcumin Extensive research over the past decade has suggested
the potential for this compound's preventive and therapeutic value against
a variety of diseases. New research shows that _curcumin_
(http://naturalsociety.com/curcumin/) , a natural phenol and compound of turmeric, is proven
to be effective at preventing Parkinson's disease by disrupting proteins
involved in the development of Parkinson's disease. Alzheimer's, Parkinson's
and other Neurodegenerative Diseases: Elderly (aged 70-79) residents of
rural India who eat large amounts of curry appear to have the lowest incidence
of Alzheimer's disease in the world.

Dear memembers, I would greatly appreciate any advice that could help me
make the right descision in regards to the treating of my dad with
Glutathione therapy. I have become aware that this antioxidant(we all produce it,
but it diminishes as we get older), gives unbelievable results when given to
Parkinsons patients(you can go to youtube, and put parkinsons patients
being treated with glutathione, and see what I mean). Their are parkinsons
patients when taking intravenous glutathione that are walking without
assistence(a hour after taking glutathione), speaking cohenrently(a hour or more
after taking gluthathione). It works that fast. I could not believe what I
was seeing. The only problem is that it cost a fortune(many hundreds or even
a thousand dollar per month or more(has to be given by a trained
proffesional in a clinical setting, because I heard that you could do harm(possibly
kill someone if you do not know how to give intravenous injections, which I
don't know how
to do).
