All of us in WA state who want to keep our freedom of choice intact should help
with below actions on 3/24 & 25.
By forcing parents to obtain a signature from a medical practitioner it exposes
them to pressure, fear tactics and often an atmosphere with conflict of
interest, hostility or refusal by the doctor treat them as patients any longer.
It is also a 'hoop' to jump through - time and expense that was never necessary
before.
WA state has been doing so well in awareness and lower vaccination rates,
therefore healthier citizens, this pressure has surfaced to counteract it.
The logic is severely flawed that this gives the opportunity to understand the
warnings of vaccinations, when the target group already know the risks and have
chosen not to take them. Other debates do not make sense either.

Dear Washington NVIC Advocacy Team Members,
We are calling on all families in Washington who care about their rights to be
able to use vaccine exemptions to take one simple but extremely important and
coordinated action against SB5005 to try and prevent you from being required to
obtain a signature on your philosophical exemption to state mandated vaccine
from a medical practitioner stating they provided you with vaccine education in
order for your exemption to be valid. We asking you to make some phone calls.
SB5005 has passed out of the Rules Committee and is about to be put on the
calendar for a full House of Representatives vote. It could come up as early as
this Friday March 25th! This is our last chance to do something to keep our
philosophical (and most religious) exemptions out of the control of medical
practitioners who are vaccine administrators. Parents who chose to delay or
decline vaccines are already well-educated and don't need a sales or
intimidation pitch by those who earn a living giving vaccines. We are at the
end of the road in the legislative process, so if SB5005 passes the House of
Representatives, it becomes law in Washington.
We only have two possible favorable outcomes at this point
1) get enough votes in the House to entirely kill the bill (less likely); or
2) amend the bill to remove the medical practitioner signature and education
requirement on the exemption and instead require the parent to have the form
notarized with a statement that the parent has reviewed vaccine benefit and risk
information. (more likely)
Key legislators in the House of Representatives have been identified for you to
start hitting them hard with phone calls immediately on Thursday as soon as you
get this email (leaving a message is fine too), again Thursday night maxing out
their voice mail, again Friday morning, again Friday evening maxing voicemail
again, Saturday morning (yes they will be working this weekend), again Saturday
evening and until we send out another note letting you know to stop. It would
also be very helpful if you would call your own State Representative too, but
only after you complete the list.
Your phone call or voice mail message could go as easy as this:
Hello. My name is [your name] and I am calling from [your town/city],
Washington. I am calling to ask Representative [Representative's Last Name] to
vote no on SB5005 or to amend it with the `notarized statement' model.
If you have time, you can further educate the Representatives by picking some of
these points to share:
· NO OTHER STATE in the entire country burdens a parent financially and
emotionally by requiring them to have to visit a doctor and obtain a signature
for verification of their philosophical exemption form.
· Instead, other states (like Texas) add the requirement of a
notarization on an exemption form with a statement that the parent has educated
themselves on the risks and benefits of vaccines.
· You are already well educated on the subject of vaccine risks and
benefits.
· You use medical practitioners not on the list of those eligible to
sign forms.
· Many doctors are openly hostile to families making educated vaccine
choices and aren't likely to sign the form or flat out throw families out of
their practice if they don't fully vaccinate.
· Parents should not have to be reliant on the pharmaceutical/vaccine
paradigm of healthcare in order to direct the upbringing of their children.
· Share any other personal reasons why this is important to your family.
Please forward this email note to everyone you know who cares about this issue
and if you are getting this email forwarded to you from a friend, please sign up

You can post this link to your facebook:

email to share.
Please start calling through this list over and over again Thursday, Thursday
evening, Friday morning, Friday Evening, Saturday, Saturday evening and again
and again until we let you know it is time to stop.

This bill is coming right from the doctors. In case you need a little
motivation to pick up the phone, check out this opinion piece in the Seattle
Times:
Lawmakers should tighten immunization rules
Vaccines prevent life-threatening disease and disability. The state Legislature
is right to get tough on parents who don't understand the public-health
importance of immunization.
Related
PARENTS ought to be required to prove a health-care provider has informed them
of the benefits and risks of immunization before they can opt out of
school-entry immunization rules.
Immunizing children against nearly a dozen diseases is the best and most
cost-effective way to prevent life-threatening disease and disability. It works
best when most children are immunized.
Current immunization rules need the stronger safeguards offered in Senate Bill
5005 and House Bill 1015. Now, parents need only sign a school form claiming
religious, philosophical or personal opposition to be exempted from state
immunization law.
As health officials reported to lawmakers this week, the lax rule encourages
waivers based more on convenience than conviction. Parents faced with a delay in
school or day-care enrollment simply opt out of the vaccination requirements….
