I have found in my life & my work that illness is the communication and pain
is the message.
Depression tends to be anger turned inward rather than outward. Long term
affects of that lead
to depleted levels of dopamine and serotonin as the body tries to keep
itself in balance even with
those unconsciously held emotions running through the body-which leads to
depression.
Exercise/movement of any sort is an excellent way of helping the body come
back into alignment.
Taking the time to uncover what the hidden, unconscious emotions and beliefs
that contribute to the
depression helps create a permanent solution to the problem. Body work,
energy work, and belief
change work all are immensely beneficial in letting go of the old programs
and allowing fresh energy
and new life to flow into the cells of the body.

Exercise is probably the best thing to do. There are times in my life when i
needed to take meds to bring my anxiety/depression down and I am so thankful
for them when needed (and I would normally go without taking any sort of
medicine). Some depression you cant will, wish, or talk away I dont think
but good luck :)

Are there ways of dealing with it. The mental fog you get with it without
going on the dangerous pyschotropic drugs? Are there ways of helping the
other symptoms of it without going on drugs?
Thank you,
Angela
