[AlternativeAnswers] Hair Recipes

Hi - Here are Hair Rinse and Oily Hair recipes. I have not tried these recipes yet, but the ingredients sound good. Here they are:

Hair Rinse

Sage Rinse - Sage helps reduce the buildup of oil on the scalp and promotes healthier hair. Use this herbal rinse after shampooing for 3 weeks.
1 cup Boiling Water
1 tsp. Dried Sage
Pour the water over the sage; steep until it cools a bit. Strain.

Chamomile Rinse - This rinse soothes and heals the scalp and gives hair a silky sheen. You can also use the rinse to lighten blond hair.
1 cup Boiling Water
1 tsp. Chamomile Flowers
Pour the water over the flowers; steep until it cools a bit. Strain out the flowers.

Birch Leaf Rinse - when used regularly, this hair rinse will help to maintain the health of the scalp and may even be a good choice for preventing hair loss. It also keeps the hair soft and gives a silky sheen. Don not use this rinse on blond or gray hair as it may darken the color.
1 cup Boiling Water
1 tsp. dried birch leaves
Pour water over the leaves; steep until it cools a bit. Strain.

Linden-Flower Rinse - This rinse is helpful for over-stressed, dried out hair. It is ideal, for example, if a permanent or repeated dyeing has made your hair brittle. It also promotes circulation in the scalp and makes the hair grown in healthier. You can use the rise after shampooing for up to six weeks.
1 cup Boiling Water
1 tsp. Linden Flowers
Pour water over the flowers; steep until it cools a bit. Strain out the flowers.

Hair Shampoo

For Dandruff
2 cups distilled water
1-3/4 oz. white soft soap
1/3 oz. potash
14 drops of rosemary oil
6 drops of eucalyptus oil
- bring the distilled water to a boil in a tall pot and in it carefully dissolve the soap.
- add the potash and stir thoroughly until smooth; then simmer for about 30 min.
- cool the mixture to the temperature of your hand and add whichever essential oils you are using.
- pour into a bottle and use regularly.
* note on essential oils - in shampoos these can irritate the mucous membranes if they come in contact with the eyes. Try to keep your eyes closed when shampooing. If shampoo does get into the eyes, rinse them immediately with water to prevent inflammation.

For Oily Hair
2 cups distilled water
1-3/4 oz white soft soap
1/3 oz potash
12 drops rosemary oil
8 drops lavender oil
Follow instructions above...

Hope these help. Blessings, Meo
