I , too, and suspect many others, have not been blessed with nurturing and loving mothers. Mine was particularly cruel and I just have to thank God for that , cuz it made me and my life what it is today. The situation with my mother still haunts and hurts even though I have forgiven, it is hard to forget. BUt I am getting stronger every day by just accepting and moving on. I try to send her light and love . We are all each others teachers.
I have found throughout the years that others in my life can take the place of a loving mother , and there are others to bless us.
And we can always break the cycle by not perpetuating with our children what our mothers did to us.
