First off, I was a nurse for 45 years, so have been trained in allopathic medicine, and have come to see many of its short-comings.
I, too, had awful sinusitis from my teens into my 70's, was on six-week courses of dangerous antibiotics at least once a year, sometimes twice. What got rid of it, for four years now, is Low Dose Naltrexone, LDN. It is a pharmaceutical drug, but used at such a low dose that it is almost homeopathic. It is cheap, safe & effective. It is written off-label & must be compounded. Since Naltrexone has been around for a long time, the patent has run out, so it can't make billions for big pharma, & they don't fund studies for it, but some small studies have been done, at Stanford for fibromyalgia, Pennsylvania for Crohn's among others.
It is a narcotic antagonist, blocks the body's opiate receptors briefly, thereby stimulating the production of endorphins, & so up-regulates the immune system. That's the theory.
It has been in use for over 20 years, for cancers, Lupus, AIDS, MS, and other auto-immune & immune-mediated diseases.but most doctors don't know much about it, because the drug company reps aren't pushing it. It has many detractors, but is not snake oil.
If you read up on it & want to use it, but can't find a doc who is willing to prescribe it, get a new doc. Call your local compounding pharmacy & ask who is prescribing it, then order it from a pharmacy on the "approved" list, preferably Skip's in FL.
It takes some courage & determination to pursue something like this in the face of possible ridicule & opposition, but the benefits can make it very much worth the effort.
