Creating Strength In Your Life
Strength has many definitions. When we think of strength or being strong, it could refer to our own physicality or muscle strength. Strength can also refer to the power behind our emotional power and how we handle situations on an emotional level. Lastly, we can see how building and maintaining our mental strength can give us great a great advantage.
I have learned that these three strengths are interlinked and by becoming more mentally strong, our emotional and physical strength follows.
What makes us strong? We need to find the right balance that works for each one of us. Strength is about relinquishing weakness, gaining courage and releasing limitations.
1. Courage: is extending yourself beyond your own limitations. Courage is defined as the risk of losing something for the benefit of benefit of something else. Courage is the idea of standing up for what you believe in. Courage is powered by love. It says that you love someone one or something so much that you are willing to take the risk for it.
2. The belief in yourself: We will find strength when we truly believe in ourselves. The more you believe in yourself, the more you will definitely accomplish. When we face situations that are near physical or mental impossibilities, then it is our belief system, or belief in ourselves, that determines IF it is possible.
3. Let Things Go: Learn to let things go once in a while. Learn to recognize the things that do not really have great impact in your life and allow yourself to let them go -- and then not beat yourself up for doing so.
4. Confidence Empowers Strength: Allow confidence in your life and you will let in strength. Being sure of yourself, without doubting or second guessing is the road to confidence. Confidence gives you power and the side effect, is that it makes you even more beautiful! Have the guts to not care what others think and you will become empowered with confidence, which lends itself to great strength.
5. Celebrate All Your Success: This is the one place that is often the most out of balance. Some careers are simply more stressful and time-consuming than others. If you need more time for yourself or your family, now may be the time to explore careers that are less stressful and more flexible. Rather than a career change, you may simply need to take a job you love and feel good in. This always increases your strength, because it is accompanied by something you love to do. There is no greater strength than this.
6. Explore Your Options: Get Help. If you are feeling overwhelmed with your work or family responsibilities, please get help if you can afford it. Find a sitter for your children, explore options for aging parents, and seek counseling for yourself. In every cases you have options, but you need to take the time to find them.
7. Take Charge. Set Priorities: Sometimes it is easier for us to allow ourselves to feel overwhelmed rather than taking charge and developing a prioritized list of things that need to get done. You need to buck the trend. Develop a list. Set priorities. And then enjoy the satisfaction of crossing things off your list.
8. Simplify: It seems human nature for just about everyone to take on too many tasks and responsibilities, to try to do too much, and to own too much. Find a way to simplify your life. Change your lifestyle. Learn to say no to requests for help. Get rid of the clutter and baggage in your house and your life.
9. Strength Builds By Appreciating The Little Things: Really appreciate when something in your life comes into balance. Acknowledge it. Be grateful. This empowers and builds inner strength.
10. You Are In Control Of Your Life: With every decision you make you shape your own reality. Strength is simply a matter of knowing what you want and making good decisions. By deciding what you want, making a plan, and actively going for it, you can create the life of your dreams.
