I am not sure what he can do about the rash, but if he needs a different approach for quitting smoking, or some extra support to go with the patch he is using, he can try The Patch Attunement. It is a mind/body approach. No side effects whatsoever. I offer it for free on the wall of my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/LindaWhiteDove and I have had some good responses from people who have used it. It was posted on December 2, so you will have to scroll down the page a bit to find it.

Subject: [AlternativeAnswers] stop smoking patches
Can anyone help me with an alternative "treatment" to help my hubby continue
on through the full course of patches to help him quit smoking. He has been
on the patches so far about 2 weeks and up until now things have been going
along ok with no dramas. However in the last few days he's been starting to
develop some minor rashes/irritation from the adhesive used on the patches.
Advice on the packet says to discontinue use if rashes develop and neither
of us want him to have to stop the course now as he has to stop smoking on
Dr's advice/orders. Any suggestions on what he may be able to do or use to
help with these rashes so that he can continue to finish the course? So far
the rash is not bad, just a minor reddening around the immediate area of
where the patch was but it is not clearing up fast enough either and as he
only has a very small area on his body that is "hairless" ( lol) it is
becoming more difficult to find "new" places.
Any help would be appreciated! And just to let you know, hubby has NO
self-control or will-power to just simply avoid smoking when an "urge" hits
him.
cheers
Lyndall
