According to a famous prognosticators and interpreters of ancient knowledge, it's the end of the world as we know it.

As 2012 draws near, watch for predictions of the apocalypse (or, alternatively, a new age of enlightenment) to be the subject of books, songs, and even movie blockbusters. Already come and gone is the hit film I Am Legend, set in 2012 Manhattan, when a mysterious malady wipes out all human life on earth, save for a few fortunate souls who survive a deadly virus. Also watch for other 2012 films and TV specials such as 2012, The Hidden Agenda 2012, 2012: Ice Age and Doomsday 2012 , all predicting cataclysmic events that will strike the planet specifically at the winter solstice on December 21.

These are all based on calculations in the ancient Mayan calendar charting an unusual planetary alignment as the solar system wends its way into the center of the Milky Way.

2012 and the Mayan Calendar

In ancient Mexico, the Mayan civilization was extraordinarily sophisticated in mathematics and astronomy. Today, they are best known for being obsessed with keeping time by creating a calendar containing not only months and years, but a "wheels-within-wheels" clockwork coordinating the movements of the sun, moon and cosmos. The Mayans predicted these movements in a "long calendar" reaching 5,000 years into the future, which abruptly ends with the winter solstice in 2012 AD. Not everybody is in agreement on whether it means the end of time, or the end of a cycle. The Mayans may have simply decided to stop calculating beyond 2012.

Experts in ancient Mexican history say the Mayans usually saw the end of cosmic cycles as a time of great celebration and new beginnings, which may explain why - in rather striking contrast - other modern prognosticators look forward to a mysterious spiritual awakening.

Others interpret it as the "end time," the Apocalypse, or Armageddon, fueled by a handful of polar shift theories and other predictions.

Nostradamus Predictions

Nostradamus saw world
war, plagues, pestilence,
and violent cataclysms...

The famous 16th century seer credited with predicting the terrorist attack on 9/11 also holds strong sway with 2012 adherents. His cryptic quatrains, they say, perfectly fit the events of World War III.

Nostradamus never mentions a specific date, but he appears to envision a global war that begins in the Middle East, accompanied by deadly chemical and nuclear attacks. The terrible upheaval will not only see the rise of the Antichrist, but will be coupled with an equally devastating "perfect storm' of plagues, earthquakes, volcanoes, and an asteroid falling to earth. The forces of good eventually prevail, but not before a long and devastating struggle finally ends World War III.

In other writings, Nostradamus saw the earth's destruction following an explosion of the sun in AD 3797, but the story of humankind doesn't end there. The old seer predicted that humanity would have already moved to colonies on other planets by then.

Edgar Cayce predictions

"America's greatest prophet", the 20th century psychic and spiritualist Edgar Cayce, also saw cataclysmic events occurring at the turn of the 21st century. In particular, his visions of coastal flooding (when the notion of global warming could not have been imagined) are eerily reminiscent of today's news headlines. Foreseeing the northern Atlantic seaboard as the most hard-hit, he pinpointed New York City as almost completely engulfed by water. He also predicted related upheavals in the Arctic and Antarctica, and saw violent volcanic activity in northern Scandinavian countries, along with the utter destruction of Japan.

[AlternativeAnswers] Dr Bate's newsletter 12/2/12 - Digestion (The "Gut")

The editorial today is a repeat of one from a few years ago, It is worth
repeating as it is about a much neglected issue - the digestive system we
all have - often called the gut. It's not a "nice" subject, and is not
discussed much in "polite" society, but it's very critical to good health,
and needs much more attention.

At 83, I remember some things about my childhood. I was given a bath once
a week unless I got into a mud puddle or something like that. I didn't
smell bad during that week as I recall. Why not? I realized some time
back that I was kind of unique. A year or so ago, I had established a
really good balance of bacteria and yeast in my gut, and it did several
things that most people today don't have. Some of these are:

1. I can go several days without a bath even in the hot Florida summer.

2. With an upper dental plate of 5 teeth, I don't have bad breath
whether or not I've brushed that day, or even for a few days.

3. I take a lot of vitamin E, (6-800 IU daily) and that thins the blood
to some extent while it helps the heart and circulation. I bleed easily
when cut or scraped, but after a very short time, a clot forms, and it
starts to heal. (With taking 4000mg of vitamin C a day, I get no
infections).

4. Even with 4 months of grief and stress after my wife died, my
digestive system seems to be working much better than most.

Now, just what does the digestive system do to accomplish those things?

Recognize that the gut is completely separate from the rest of the body.
It contains bacteria that can kill if within the bloodstream. It is part
of the body like the hole in a doughnut is part of the doughnut.

Here are some of the things that this marvel does if it is well with the
right blend of bacteria and yeast/fungus.

1. The "right" bacteria is even in the mouth part of this system, and
it not only prevents bad odors, but actually prevents bacteria attacks on
the teeth, and cavities.

2. If the gut is not working correctly, the body has to get rid of
"poisons". It does this by pushing them out thru the skin, and that causes
body odor.

3. If the gut is correct, then it produces several items that are
necessary. One is the mysterious B12 transport system called "intrinsic
factor". With a poor gut system, the can lead to one form of anemia.

Another is much more important than is generally recognized. Vitamin K is
made in the gut. We get less than 20% from food or supplements. This is
the precursor to the two hormones that clot the blood, and stop the
clotting. (Most hormones come in twos that act in opposite directions,
sort of like the reins of a horse).

Years ago, I asked Abram Hoffer if there were anyway to get statistics on
percentage of heart attacks before and after the Flemings discovery of
penicillin. He had not considered my theory, and thought it likely that I
was right.

OK, now that you know a bit more about the gut, how do you fix yours? Not
too difficult, and not too expensive. Go to mywebsite, and scroll down the
Navigation (left side) to "digestion. Click on that, and that web page
explains part of the above, and how to get a well balanced gut. Beleive me
or not, good gut balance is well worthit, and should be a part of any
therapy for any disease.

What single thing is the worst in upsetting the gut balance?

Anitbiotics from the MD's and Big Pharma are all made from fungus or
yeast. Yeast and bacteria are enemies, and in the gut, the co-exist in
separate colonies. If an antibiotic is taken, it kills only bacteria, and
may strengthen the yeast. thus, the balance is upset, and if it goes far
enough, we have the disease called "Candida", which is yeast overgrowth in
the gut.

There is no question that antibiotics have saved many lives, but there
seems to be nothing that is all good in the world. Antibiotics are the
problem in today's culture.

The "natural" antibiotic is vitamin C, but some 65 million years ago, the
"primates", lost an enzyme that was needed to turn glucose (sugar) into
ascorbic acid which is vitamin C. Almost all animals except we primates
still have this enzyme, and make the vitamin C needed for most things
directly in their own bodies.

(Wow, with the sugar consumed in this culture today, we'd be pretty healthy
if we could get that enzyme back.)

Some years back, I stopped taking any antibiotics for anything, and started
taking 4000 mg of plain vitamin C a day. Now, there is little that can
destroy the gut balance, and that's the main reason why I have the symptoms
described above.

Kevin Trudeau in his Natural Cures book claims to be able to supress herpes from braking out forever. If you make sure your immune system stays strong, as years go by there should be less and less outbreaks. Alcohol, stress, lots of caffeine will cause a break out. Take lots of vitamin C and rub oreganol oil at the base of your back, this simple step seemed to be a lot of help for people affected by the virus.

BIO: Kristina Carrillo-Bucaramis a pioneer in the local, organic food co-operative movement. The founder of the largest raw, organic produce co-operative in the U.S., she has been 100% raw for almost 7 years. An exemplification of all that she wishes to create, she is a leading visionary in the raw movement, especially in Houston, TX.

She attended both Vanderbilt University and Rice University, and she graduated from Rice University on the top 5% of her class in 2009 with a triple major in Kinesiology specializing in Health Science, Raw Foods, and Fasting. Since then, she has been involved highly in the movement of Organic Horticulture, Permaculture, and Co-operative Communities.

Kristina's inspiration for being FullyRaw came after she was able to rid herself of Hyperglycemia at the age of 18 eating nothing but a low fat raw vegan diet consisting solely of fresh fruits and vegetables with few nuts and seeds. After being a direct understudy of 20+ year raw fooder John Rose, she interned and worked under Dr. Graham at his health events in Seattle and in Costa Rica. She has lived in the Dominican Republic and in Costa Rica, and she has become an avidly enthusiastic runner who runs at least 6-8 miles a day!

At the age of 20 before she graduated college, she started the non-profit organization called Rawfully Organic. This organic produce co-operative in Houston, Texas grew from 12 people in her living room to over 6000 families in the greater Houston city limits. Rawfully Organic feeds over 450 families each week and focuses on the benefits of eating diets high in raw fruits and vegetables while making organic affordable for all. The nonprofit grosses more a million each year, and it stays true to its mission to support families in the Texas community to supply an abundance of organic produce to help them achieve their raw, vegetarian, or vegan lifestyle. To this day, the coop is 100% volunteer run, and not even Kristina chooses to write herself a paycheck.
Besides being the chief goddess co-operator of Rawfully Organic, Kristina has made a living coaching and inspiring thousands of others to be FullyRaw for the past few years. She also enjoys frequently speaking and lecturing to the Texas community. She even offers raw classes where she prepares food for her audiences! Kristinas mission is to simply REACH PEOPLE with the message of RAW. She wants to inspire people to find their rawness within so that they can find their own health freedom and zest!
