[AlternativeAnswers] Re: Fingernails

Hi David,

I drink water with baking soda in it a few times during the day to keep the ph balance in check. I use nothing but Sea Salt so I feel good with that. My hair is in good shape, it's just the fingernails.

Water without Flouride is a problem as it's in our City Water, however I do have a special faucet with a filter on that, so it's as close to pure as I can get.

Thanks for your input here. I appreciate your information.
Hugs,
Buffy

[AlternativeAnswers] Re: Fingernails

Hi Diane,
I am taking most of the supplements you have suggested here, so it must be related to the stress as I did up my B-complex during that time and have continued with that. I did know about the Vitamin E oil and have neglected that. I am eating some of the mention fruits, vegetables and use extra virgin coconut oil and olive oil.

In place of the nuts, I'm drinking Silk Almond unsweetened. I can't find any unsweetened spirulina so I don't take that, didn't know about Oatstraw and Horsetail. Have always used Kirk's natural soap w/Coconut oil or coco butter and a natural lavender hand lotion. I take Krill oil which includes ubiquinol, so no need for the flax seed and I get more than enough Omega 6 & 9. I guess I just need more time for them to recoup!

Thank you so much for all the information you provided, I really appreciate it.
Hugs,
Buffy

Re: [AlternativeAnswers] Fingernails

A good quality Vitamin for nails are B-complex, C-complex, A, E (alpha
tocopherol), D, calcium, zinc, iodine, biotin and iron. Magnesium helps
assimilation of vitamin C, B vitamins and protein. A good brand Multi-vitamin
will help. When our nails are not receiving enough of these vitamins, or when
our body cannot absorb them properly due to illness, stress or other
factors, they will begin to become brittle, dry, weak and dull. Apply and
massage Vitamin E oil on nails.

Specific Fruits and Vegetables for Nail Care - the include fruits and
vegetables - Avocado, apples, grapes, asparagus, cucumbers, garlic, green leafy
vegetables, celery, onions and sweet potatoes. Include nuts and seeds.
Oils organic virgin Coconut oil, cold pressed Flaxseed Oil and Olive Oil. Take
supergreen food Spirulina it has many vitamins and minerals.
Spirulina Nutrition Facts: Complete protein source, Vitamins Beta carotene,
B1, B2, B6, B12, E, and K. Minerals contains a full spectrum of minerals
and is especially rich in Iron and Magensium. It contains around 2,000
enzymes, rich in chlorophyll, essential fatty acids. Spirulina offers the second
highest concentration, of the omega 6 fatty acid GLA (gamma linolenic
acid). GLA acts as an anti-inflammatory substance and has been shown to help
produce healthy skin and hair.

Horsetail and Oatstraw are both herbs that contain silica. Silica
strengthens your nails to help prevent breaks.

Do not place your hands in harsh drying chemicals. Use a natural soap and
moisturizer.

Hello,

Could someone please advise me on what is lacking in my diet? About 4
months ago, a family member was seriously ill, my hands were in and out of
water all day long, making sure everything was clean and sanitized. Also,
using vinegar, water, peroxide and EO's. Now my nails are growing slowly,
then need filing, then break.

I don't know if the above information has anything to do with my nail
problem, just mention it as that is when this started. Nails were strong and
of nice length before.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hugs,
Buffy
