Re: [AlternativeAnswers] Re: allergies

Brown patches and spots on skin appear for many reasons — age, sun
exposure, pregnancy, as a side effect of certain medications, freckles, moles,
Seborrheic keratoses, nutritional dificiency, hormones, allergy rashes, and
more. You can try these home remedies and see if they work.

Lemon juice. Easy, cheap, and effective. Lemon juice works as a natural
bleach. Apply bottled lemon juice or the juice of a lemon to the spots.
Hydrogen peroxide. This, too, is a bleach, but stronger than lemon juice. It is
used in hair dyes to lighten hair and also in teeth whiteners to bleach
the stains off teeth. Over-the-counter strengths can help fade brown patches
and spots on skin. Try buttermilk. Buttermilk, available in the dairy
section of your grocery store, contains lactic acid, which has been used for
years as a way to treat brown spots. Apply sour cream to your face. Leave it
for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water. You should start to see a
difference after one week if you do this daily. Parsley, Lemon, Red Currant
and Orange juice, add to moisturizing cream. Apply mixture as a face mask a
few minutes everyday. Sandalwood powder mix with Glycerin, Rosewater and
Lemon juice. Apply paste on dark spots.

[AlternativeAnswers] Recipe: Herbal Face Lift

Good Morning!

Recipe: Herbal Face Lift

This recipe is too drying for the eye area, so avoid applying it there.

1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup orrisroot
1/4 cup sea salt
2 tablespoons dulse (a kind of seaweed)
2 tablespoons kelp
1/2 cup distilled water
Several strips of 8? by 8? torn bed sheets, gauze, or other clean cotton material

To Make:
1. Sift together the baking soda, orrisroot, and sea salt into a large bowl.
2. In a spice mill, powder the dulse and kelp and add to dry ingredients.
3. Heat the distilled water to boiling, then pour over the dry ingredients.
4. Stir thoroughly.

To Use:

1. Wear a shirt with a fairly low neckline for easy access to your neck and chin.

2. Moisturize the jaw, chin, neck, and cheek area of your face with a light moisturizer or vegetable oil. Dab your face with a cloth to remove any excess oil or moisturizer.

3. Using a wooden spoon, small paint brush or spatula, apply the mixture to the jaw, chin, neck, and cheeks.

4. Immediately wrap the sheets or gauze snugly first around the neck, then from the chin around the head several times, to just below the eyes. Next, wrap sheet or gauze up over the top of the head and under the china few times to secure.

5. Relax and be quiet until the mixture and sheets become dry and tight (approx. 30 minutes). No talking--this will stretch the sheets and keep you from getting the results you desire.

6. Rinse your face and neck with the coldest water you can bear. Notice the surprising softening effects on your skin.

[AlternativeAnswers] Re: approval

Good Morning, Ruth,

Thank you for your post.

As always, I am so grateful for your presence, participation and for being a part of this community, especially for as long as you have. It means a lot to me. Thank you.

Just so you know, this has nothing to do with you. The entire group can be moderated (message approval) or unmoderated.

I choose to have the group moderated in order to spare you from the hundreds of spammers, bloggers, blatant sales tactics, inappropriate material and just plan trash that gets posted to this group on a weekly basis.

I hope this meets your approval, as I really try to keep the group an educational and insightful community for you and everyone to come to.

With that said, TO THE COMMUNITY, I want this understood:

-Marketing is an important part of any business. I encourage it. I have set up a special place, here, within the group to list your favorite websites, herbal supplements, color therapist and so forth, here:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AlternativeAnswers/links

-You can list your events in our community calendar, here:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AlternativeAnswers/cal

-You can add files that are relative and helpful for the group, here:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AlternativeAnswers/files

-Add your practice or service to our community database, here:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AlternativeAnswers/database

A word on posting:

When you post an article, post the entire article. Add your link at the end of the article. Anyone posting a paragraph teaser to your blog or website and then a link, takes the reader away from the communtiy. Contribute. After reading your article, if someone is interested in what you wrote, they will follow the link to your interesting blog or site.

I appreciate everyone's great energy here!

Thank you,

Andrew Pacholyk
