[AlternativeAnswers] hand reflexology

The hands and feet contain hundreds of energy points that stimulate the
natural healing abilities of the body. You can begin with acupressure, using
pressure and massage to activate the areas desired. The hand is a
representation of the entire body. In its most basic form, the correlation means
the thumb corresponds to the head, the index finger and pinky correspond to
the arms, and the middle finger and the ring finger correspond to the legs;
the back of the hand corresponds to the posterior parts of the body, such
as the kidneys; and the palm corresponds to other vital organs at the front
of the body, such as the large intestine. The hand as a representation of
the body, we can access and heal all the major organs, organ systems, cells,
and even chakras of the entire body. All you need is a palpation
instrument of some kind, such as a pencil eraser or a retractable pen.

For Example on Treating Headaches
Find the point on your thumb that corresponds to the general area of your
headache. For instance, let's say your headache is on the top of your head.
This corresponds to the tip of your thumb. Using the pen tip, press into
the top of your thumb, fishing around for a sensitive area, almost like a
small ball of pain or tension. You are likely to find at least one sensitive
spot. This sensitive spot shares a similitude to the area of your actual
headache.
Gently massage the area for a few minutes, gradually increasing the
pressure. It should be a bit uncomfortable, but not excruciating. If every point
is sensitive, you are pushing too hard. Within a few minutes you may notice
your headache isn't as intense and is maybe moving or dispersing.
As you do this, remember to breathe! Breathing helps increase circulation,
removes waste (detoxifies), and transports nutrients to tissue. The breath
is the source of life and must be cultivated through whatever you do.
