Insect Essential Oil Repellent

Ants Peppermint, Spearmint, Citronella

Aphids Peppermint, Spearmint, Cederwood

Black Fly Lemongrass, Lavender (I would also add catnip oil)

Cutworms Thyme, Sage

Fleas Lemongrass, Citronella, Cedarwood

Flies Lemongrass, Peppermint

Fruit Flies Cedarwood, Peppermint

Lice Tea Tree, Lemongrass

Mosquitoes Peppermint, Lemongrass, Citronella (I would also add
catnip oil)

Moths Peppermint, Lemongrass

Slugs Garlic, Cedarwood, Pine

Ticks Cedarwood, Pine, Patchouli (I would also add Rose
Geranium oil)

Wasps Peppermint, Lemongrass

Mix 20 drops of each of essential oil in 100ml of tap water and pour into a
spray bottle. Shake well, then spray as necessary.

Natural Insect Bite Treatments

There are almost as many natural insect bite treatments as there are seeds in a pomegranate.

Here are a few of the more interesting home remedies for insect stings that I've run into over the years.

Soak the affected area with vinegar.

Put a cotton ball dipped in ammonia on the bite to draw out the stinger and reduce the pain and itch.

Smash up a clove of garlic and place the poultice on the affected area.

Spread some honey onto a clean cloth. Place an ice cube on top of the honey. Wrap up the cloth and place on affected area, honey side next to the bite.

Kill a rattlesnake and then eat some of the meat every day for the next week. (I don't recommend this one since monkeying with rattlesnakes is dangerous, but I included it anyway because it's the oddest insect bite treatment I've ever heard of.)
My personal favorite is No. 4.

Amazingly enough, the honey insect bite treatment worked wonders for me last summer when a wasp decided to kick my ass for disturbing its territory while I was mowing the lawn.

I've never tried treatment No. 5 and have no intentions of doing so in the future.

Ants in the pantry...

Aspartame was originally created as ANT POISON.
Open one of those little blue packets and sprinkle it around the pantry.
Wallah - NO MORE ANTS!
Works in the yard & garden too.
Just make sure it's NOT where dogs & cats can lick it up.
It's not selective who or what it kills...
including people!
Even the smallest doses of aspartame in lab rats produced CANCER...
so of course it's safe for people....??????? HUH??
And it's in over 9,000 FOOD products & drinks and almost ALL gums... even in sugar now! No, they don't have to put that on the label.
