Peanuts Health Benefits;

Peanuts are generally called as Ground nuts which belongs legume group
of plants and botanically called as Arachis hypogaea. Peanuts are very
popular and widely used in many food items, edible oil seeds, which is
being grown and commercially cultivated throughout the world for its
numerous health benefits. Each peanuts kernel contains one to three
oval shaped nuts, that is reddish brown in color, and delicious, nutty
and crunchy in taste.

grams of peanuts provides nearly 560 calories of energy and comprises
of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, dietary fiber and zero cholesterol,

complex constituents like, riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, folates,
pantothenic acid, phyridoxine, and electrolytes such as potassium, and
sodium, and minerals like, copper, iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc,
selenium, manganese, phosphorous and antioxidants like carotenoids,
lutein, zeaxanthin, beta carotene and crypto xanthin, all contribute to
promote good health and prevent many health disorders.

Peanuts health benefits include; peanuts are rich source of dietary
fiber and mono unsaturated fatty acids like oleic acid, which aids to
lowers LDL Cholesterol and raises HDL Cholesterol, improves heart
health, prevents cardiovascular disorders. Due to the presence of rich
content of amino acids, it aids for growth and development. The
presence of poly phenolic antioxidant, p-coumaric acid that lowers risk
of stomach cancer as it inhibits the growth of carcinogens. Ground nuts
are rich source of resveratrol which protects against degenerative
disorders like cancer, heart disorders, Alzheimer's disease and
prevents fungal, viral infections as well. The presence of Resveratrol
lowers risk of vascular damage as it decreases the angiotensin
activity, that constricts blood vessels, which increases blood pressure
and hyper tension, and it increases the production of nitric oxide, that
dilates blood vessels.

Bringing Luck Into Your Life

In honor of St. Patrick's day, I would like to talk about the metaphysics of luck!

Luck. What exactly is luck? Is luck being at the right place at the right time?
Finding that lucky penny? Always landing on your feet? Finding a four leaf
clover? Discovering bird droppings on your shoulder?

What ever your idea of luck, research has found that people are divided. Thanks
to the research of Dr. Richard Wiseman in collaboration with Dr. Matthew Smith
and Dr. Peter Harris, The Luck Project was born. "Conceived to scientifically
explore psychological differences between people who considered themselves
exceptionally lucky and unlucky", The Luck Project discovered some incredible
results. "The results of this work reveal that people are not born lucky.
Instead, lucky people are, without realizing it, using four basic principles to
create good fortune in their lives".

Principle One: Maximize Chance Opportunities
Lucky people are skilled at creating, noticing and acting upon chance
opportunities. They do this in various ways, including networking, adopting a
relaxed attitude to life and by being open to new experiences.

Principle Two: Listening to Lucky Hunches
Lucky people make effective decisions by listening to their intuition and gut
feelings. In addition, they take steps to actively boost their intuitive
abilities by, for example, meditating and clearing their mind of other thoughts.

Principle Three: Expect Good Fortune
Lucky people are certain that the future is going to be full of good fortune.
These expectations become self-fulfilling prophecies by helping lucky people
persist in the face of failure, and shape their interactions with others in a
positive way.

Principle Four: Turn Bad Luck to Good
Lucky people employ various psychological techniques to cope with, and often
even thrive upon, the ill fortune that comes their way. For example, they
spontaneously imagine how things could have been worse, do not dwell on the ill
fortune, and take control of the situation.Our most recent research has shown
that these four principles can be used to enhance the amount of good fortune
that people experience in their lives".

The Rwandan civil war in the 90's produced severe PTSD in genocide survivors, who were left with brutal physical and emotional scars.
Psychotherapist and author Barbara Stone traveled to Rwanda in 2009 with a group of humanitarian volunteers headed by Dr. Lori Leyden to work with these survivors using a variety of energy therapies including Thought Field Therapy (TFT), a non-invasive system which stimulates acupressure points on the body's meridians to release trauma and restore balance, promoting the body's own ability to heal.
If you are a healer in any modality (and need to earn CEs) or simply want to learn self-help techniques for working with trauma, this workshop is for you!
