The Law is Dead – Long Live Compassion and Truth

https://fairballotbox.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/41.jpg?w=830

From the days of the Romans we know how cruel the law can be. Today, more than ever, the cruellest people are often the ones who cling to the letter of the law. They are the ones who make the laws and implement the laws whether the laws are just or not. The police and the judicial system are on the front lines today of cruelty dishing out harsh punishments for the most benign acts.

The western world we know and grew up in learned the art of cruelty and mental and emotional torture when it went to war against drugs. These people, judges, police, social workers and even prison guards and other departments of the government are all participating in legal practices but will be judged at heaven's gates for their selfishness and cruelty against others.

There is no shortage of cruelty in the world but sometimes something comes through in the news that provokes our indignation. Actually if we read the news everyday there is always something that can stress us out.

What provoked me to write the above words is the story about a mom who says marijuana is the only thing that helps with her Crohn's disease surrendered herself to Kansas authorities for arrest Monday, to face possession charges in a state where medical use of pot is illegal. She faces 30 years in prison and already child custody has taken her son away.

http://stevedeace.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/nolawatall.jpg

Officials have gone mad for decades over this issue and I tell you the heavenly hosts, the guardians of Gods will, do not take it kindly for the hell wrought on earth for one of God's best presents to us, a weed with almost limitless medical utility.

The dammed are going to suffer for eternity (in a place called hell) but those convicted for innocent crimes against unjust laws suffering will be temporal.

http://www.apisanet.com/nnh-content/uploads/ri/right-to-disobey-law-of-life-quotes.jpg

It is impossible to challenge the law when the only possible arrangement; the only option is to accept it. Charles Hugh Smith says, "In effect, the mainstream media is a vast Psychological Operation (PSYOPS) aimed at persuading the American public that the status quo Imperial system of predatory, debt-based crony-capitalism that benefits the few at the expense of the many is not just beneficial to all its debt-serfs and welfare recipients, but it is the only possible system--there is no alternative."

There is actually a most powerful alternative to the law and that is love and compassion. I have always lived with the philosophy that with love we need no laws for it is the highest law. Unfortunately there is not enough love on earth to run the show down here without laws. But do we need cruel laws to run our civilization? The richest and most powerful people obviously think so and thus their inbreeding and marriage to the law makes them eternally cruel.

Doomed Civilization

The Automatic Earth writes, "While we were busy being busy we for instance were largely oblivious to the fact the US is no longer a beneficial force in the world, and that it doesn't spread democracy or freedom. Now you may argue to what extent that has ever been true, and you should, but the perception was arguably much closer to the truth 70 years ago, at the end of WWII, then it is today. Another change we really can't get our heads around is how the media have turned from a source of information to a source of – pre-fabricated – narratives. We'll all say to some extent or another that we know our press feeds us propaganda, but, again arguably, few of us are capable of pinpointing to what extent that is true. Perhaps no big surprise given the overdose of what passes for information, but duly noted."

We have been and continue to be duped by our politicians, bankers, industrialists, doctors and everyone else in power who have wholeheartedly engaged in false narratives about everything from medicine to climate change. They have sold the bad as something good and we expect what from it all? We are on quicksand—our entire civilization—and we are going to be forced to experience the errors of our collective ways.

Medical Beasts

http://www.independent.co.uk/incoming/article10286968.ece/alternates/w460/drug-reactions.jpg

I hold especial contempt for the lowest of the low. The scum of the earth are pediatricians and I do best by forgetting they exist. I wrote a book ten years ago called The Terror of Pediatric Medicine and have given the book away freely ever since. These doctors are not doctors they are something else but I will let the reader come up with choice names with which to identify the kind of person who justifies the creation of suffering on an enormous scale. I just read the essay, Thousands of teenage girls enduring debilitating illnesses after routine school cancer vaccination, and what can I say that I have not said before. However we can and should conclude once and for all that mainstream doctors are not a beneficial force on earth.

[AlternativeAnswers] Treating TMJ: Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome

Good Morning!

Treating TMJ: Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome

Today, researchers generally agree that temporomandibular joint syndrome falls into three main categories:

1. Myofascial pain, the most common form of TMJ syndrome, which is discomfort or pain in the muscles that control jaw function and the neck and shoulder muscles.

2. Internal derangement of the joint, meaning a dislocated jaw or displaced disc, or injury to the condyle;

3. Degenerative joint disease, such as osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis in the jaw joint.

A person may have one or more of these conditions at the same time. Severe injury to the jaw or temporomandibular joint can cause TMJ syndrome. A heavy blow, for example, can fracture the bones of the joint or damage the disc, disrupting the smooth motion of the jaw and causing pain or locking. Arthritis in the jaw joint may also result from injury.

Head Forward Syndrome or Forward Head Posture has been an issue recognized more so lately, due to the fact that so many people work on computers. The pitching of the head forward has actually become a syndrome. This weakens the entire foundation from the lumbar spine upward. If you can imagine toy blocks all aligned on top of each other. Now imagine pushing the top block forward. The other blocks underneath it begin to "stress" as they try to hang on to the top block. The same thing is happening to our spinal column as we pitch our head too far forward, instead of keep the head back and aligned over the rest of the spine.

Other causes of TMJ syndrome are less clear. Some suggest, for example, that a bad bite (malocclusion) can trigger TMJ syndrome, but recent research disputes that view. Orthodontic treatment, such as braces and the use of headgear, has also been blamed for some forms of TMJ syndrome, but studies now show that this is unlikely. And there is no scientific proof that gum chewing causes clicking sounds in the jaw joint, or that jaw clicking leads to serious TMJ problems. In fact, jaw clicking is fairly common in the general population. If there are no other symptoms, such as pain or locking, jaw clicking usually does not need treatment.

Researchers believe that most people with clicking or popping in the jaw joint likely have a displaced disc -- the soft, shock-absorbing disc is not in a normal position. As long as the displaced disc causes no pain or problems with jaw movement, no treatment is needed. Some experts suggest that stress, either mental or physical, may cause or aggravate TMJ syndrome.

People with TMJ syndrome often clench or grind their teeth at night, which can tire the jaw muscles and lead to pain. It is not clear, however, whether stress is the cause of the clenching/grinding and subsequent jaw pain, or the result of dealing with chronic jaw pain or dysfunction. Scientists are exploring how behavioral, psychological and physical factors may combine to cause TMJ syndrome.

Exercises for TMJ Syndrome

Milking The Cow

The exercise so often referred to by chiropractors and craniosacral therapists is Milking the cow.
Close your eyes.
Let the jaw relax and slightly open.
With index and middle fingers of both hands place them on both sides of the sides of the ears at the cheek bone (zygomatic bone)
press down and pull the fingers down toward the corner of the jaw (angle of mandible).
Repeat this stroking motion SLOWLY, 20-30 times.
This relaxes the jaw and can often "adjust" the positioning of the condylar process of the mandible. Relieving tension in the jaw and face.

Fist Resistor

This exercise works using isometrics. Place your fist under your chin. Slowly open your mouth wide as you resist the downward motion of opening your mouth with your fist.

Now reverse this motion, pushing upward with your fist, allow your jaw to do the resisting as you close your mouth with your first.
Do this 10-15 times s-l-o-w-l-y, 2-3 times per day.

Neck Relaxor

Take a large towel and fold it the long way. Roll the towel up. Now lay on the floor and place the towel under the curve of your neck. The back of your head should be able to rest on the floor. Now relax for 15 minutes. This allows the curve of the neck relax into proper alignment. This exercise can be done as a great stress reliever as well. Muscles have memory and this exercise allows the muscles in the neck to "remember" their shape in relation to the cervical spine.

Additional Therapies

Acupuncture: As an acupuncturist, I see this syndrome in my office at least twice a week. Acupuncture has a great track record for helping TMJ syndrome. Acupuncture helps by relieving persistent jaw and neck pain as well as relieving the headaches associated with TMJ syndrome.

Chiropractor: Chiropractors can help to realign the skeletal structure of the neck and jaw. Spinal problems and TMJ are often found together and an adjustment can bring great relief.

Craniosacral Therapist: The work of a craniosacral therapist aims at releasing temporal bones to restore normal function, regardless of the primary cause. This gentle, non-invasive procedure is very beneficial.

Trigger Point Therapy: is a unique treatment protocol for the treatment of myofascial pain. Trigger Points produce pain locally and in a referred pattern and often accompany chronic musculoskeletal disorders. The purpose of trigger point therapy is to eliminate pain and to re-educate the muscles into pain-free habits.

[AlternativeAnswers] Dream Research and PET Scans

Good Morning!

Dream Research and PET Scans

There has been a lot of research done on dreams and dreaming. The research I focused on was the work done with the PET scan. (1) The Positron Emissions Tornography have been used to measure various rates of blood flow through the brain.

There is basically two major Phases in Sleep. NREM - non rapid eye movement and REM - rapid eye movement. NREM sleep is the beginning of the sleep cycle. In NREM, the average brain activity decreases - proportionately the rate of blood flow decreases.

So areas such as the Reticular Activating System which is the area involved in arousal and wakening, shuts down. Areas involved in muscle movement shut down. But, regions involved in the consolidation and retrieval of memory did not decrease in blood flow, but the pathways that bring information to and from this region did shut down, therefore isolating them metabolically.

About 90 minutes into our sleep pattern we experience REM sleep. REM sleep is produced by the excretion of Acetylcholine in the Pons. (2) Suddenly, the Brain Stem begins firing electrical impulses through the brain. Heightening breath, heart rate and sexual arousal and sends impulses through the cortical and subcortical regions. Some regions of the brain's metabolic rates wind up being higher than when we are awake.

An area of gray matter, located at the Occipito-Temporo-Parital junction is activated. This is where the brain performs the highest level of processing of perceptual information.

Our emotional brain - The Limbic System increases with blood flow and our memory and sensory processes connected to simple vision and hearing in the Diencephelon and Medulla increase but the Primary Visual Cortex region in the Occipital Lobe did not show much of an increase in blood flow. Normally, an increase in activity in the lower areas cannot occur without an increase in the Primary Visual Cortex.

But, in REM sleep, the brain will activate the lower areas and begin integration of visual patterns. This is what is speculated to be the make-up of imagery and symbols in our dreams. (3)

The Prefrontal Cortex, which is divided into four regions, plays a central role in our self-discipline, gratification restrainment and controlling one's impulses. This region is typically inactive during REM sleep. except for one of the four regions. This is the deep white matter of the frontal lobe with large fiber pathways which transmit the chemical Neurotransmitter Dopamine from the Mid Brain to the Frontal Cortex.

So with the Limbic emotional brain extremely active and the self-disciplinary Prefrontal Cortex mostly inactive, it is believed to be the reason why we have such disinhibiting dreams (4) such as flying, falling and fantasies.

[AlternativeAnswers] Vital Signs: The Nature and Nurture of Passion, Saturday, 13 June 2015

"Vital Signs: The Nature and Nurture of Passion" reminder
When
Saturday, 13 June 2015
02:00 PM to 06:00 PM
(GMT) Greenwich Mean Time - Dublin / Edinburgh / Lisbon / London
Where
Caritas
Notes
Vital Signs: The Nature and Nurture of Passion With Gregg Levoy Saturday, June 13, 1 pm - 5 pm $25 General Public; $20 Caritas Members What inspires passion in your life? And what defeats it? How do you lose it and how do you get it back? In this hands-on workshop, Gregg Levoy, author of the best-selling book Callings (Random House) and Vital Signs (Penguin), will help you explore how you can cultivate not just a specific passion, but passion as a mindset---a stance---that helps bring vitality to all your engagements, from work and relationships to creativity and spiritual life. We'll examine the endless, yet endlessly fruitful, tug-of-war between passion and security in our lives, the wild in us and the tame. And we'll do some courageous inquiry into our dis-passion---where we're stuck or bored in our lives---so that we can rework these tendencies in ourselves, claim our rightful inheritance of vitality, and get our spark back. What you'll learn: * Passion can be cultivated. Turned on as well as turned off. And this happens most readily at the level of the gesture and the moment, not the five-year plan. * Passion is in the risk. In the willingness to step from the sidelines onto the playing field. * Passion breeds passion and disinterest breeds disinterest. If we lack passion in our own lives, our other relationships---our partnerships, friendships, communities, classrooms, corporations and congregations---will be denied that energy. * Passion is more than exuberance; it's endurance. It's sometimes shoulder-to-the-wheel stamina and patience on the order of years. * Passion is intimately related to health. To the degree that passion is vitality, honoring our passions enhances our vitality. (Please bring writing materials to the workshop.) Gregg Levoy is the author of Callings: Finding and Following An Authentic Life (Random House)----rated among the "Top 20 Career Publications" by the Workforce Information Group and a text in various graduate programs in Management and Organizational Leadership---and Vital Signs: The Nature and Nurture of Passion (Penguin).
