Recipes: Detox Waters

Vinegar Apple Detox Water:  This recipe gives you a detox water that flushes out nasty toxins and really does help you to drop a few pounds, too. It's got apple cider vinegar which has so many benefits that it's impossible to list them all. There are also apples which are great for fiber, lemons that have cleansing properties and cinnamon which helps to curb your appetite. You'll need about 12 ounces of filtered water, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, a teaspoon of ground cinnamon and about half a medium apple, sliced. You can also add a bit of sweetener if you want. You simply put everything except the apples into your blender and blend for about ten seconds. Then just add your apples and drink.
Cucumber Lemon Detox Water:   The lemon in this water recipe is great for boosting your immune system and cleaning out harmful toxins. Cucumber is an anti-inflammatory and helps you to stay hydrated. Mint sweetens your drink without adding sugar and aids in digestion. To make this one, just mix about eight cups of water with a 1/2 cucumber (wedged or sliced), a whole lemon (wedged or sliced) and about ten mint leaves (or however many you prefer). Mix in a large pitcher and allow it to steep in the fridge overnight. This is a really tasty drink and one that offers many wonderful detoxing benefits.

Lemon Ginger Detox Water:   is a natural pain reliever and adding it to your water can give you wonderful detox properties. For this recipe, you need about 12 ounces of water at room temperature as well as the juice of ½ a lemon and ½ inch knob of fresh ginger root. Just add your lemon juice to the water and then grate the ginger into it using a zester or cheese grater. This is a great drink for first thing in the morning. Not only will it help to relieve pain all day, it will cleanse toxins from your body throughout the day and the lemon juice helps to release those nasty toxins so they'll flush out better.

[AlternativeAnswers] Aromatherapy and the Heart

Good Morning!

Aromatherapy and the Heart

The heart provides the power we need to live. Arguably the most important muscle we have. In an average lifetime, the heart beats more than two and a half billion times, without ever pausing to rest. The heart supplies the force to circulate blood throughout the body. The blood transports oxygen and nutrient to the cells of the body and carries waste and other substances from the cells. It pumps an average of 6000 quarts of blood daily.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the heart is the emperor of the human body. The heart is the ruler of the five organs. It commands the movements of the four extremities, it circulates the blood and Qi (our vital energy), as it roams the realms of the material and the immaterial. It is in harmony with the expression of every action.

Aromatherapy can help sooth the heart, calm the nerves and slow a rapid pulse. As always prevention is the key. Maintaining the condition of our heart is important, no matter if you are working with a healthy heart or have had a stroke, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure...aromatherapy can help! Helpful, are essential oils of Clary Sage, Bergamot, Geranium, Ginger, Lemongrass, Neroli, Rose and Rosemary and are all beneficial for the heart.

Bergamot: helps soothe frustration and anger. This citrus oil helps those regain self confidence, who have lost it and uplifts and refreshes the Spirit. Bergamot has a reputation that evokes joy and warms the heart.

Clary Sage: The heart-shaped leaves of Clary Sage is considered an antispasmodic oil, can decrease heart rate and is considered mildly hypotensive.

Geranium: The fuzzy heart-shaped leaves of Geranium may also be an indicator that this fragrant oil is used to improve the circulatory system. Geranium is also known to soothe an agitated heart.

Ginger: This rich, spicy oil so often used for nausea also helps normalize blood pressure either by raises blood pressure by restricting external blood flow, or lowers it by dilating surface blood vessels.

Lemongrass: This oil contains five different compounds that inhibit blood clotting.

Neroli: Studies show that just inhaling Neroli can lower high blood pressure. Stress-related heart problems respond well to this fruity oil.

Rose: A gentle Heart tonifier, Rose's psychological properties play mostly upon it effects on the mind. The mind, which is the center of our emotional being, extends it's energy to the heart. Rose oil calms, nourishes and supports the heart and helps restore a sense of well being. Rose oil can be very beneficial in helping with anxiety, palpitations and insomnia. The compassion of the Rose is seen through it's ability to heal emotional wounds. When loss, rejection or sorrow has injured our capacity for nurturing and self love, Rose oil brings a sweet and gentle comfort, binding the "heart strings" from the Heart to the Mind.

Rosemary: Studies show that this oil improves general circulation.

But the power of scent to work for you!

[AlternativeAnswers] No Expectations, Endless Possibilities

Good Morning!

No Expectations, Endless Possibilities

We expect things in life. We expect things to be as they were in our childhood, the way we were brought up. We expect things to be the way we want them to be, the way we feel things should be. We expect things to be the way we want them to be in our love life, our careers, our families, our vacations and our relationship with others.

"The greater you expect things to be, the harder it is to deal with things that do not go your way!"

Already, I can sense resistance!

Having no expectations is one of the greatest lessons we can learn. This is not an easy concept to wrap your mind around.

In my practice, I see this everyday:

The 30 year old female who gives up other interests, activities, and friends, now that she is in this new relationship. She is expecting that each new relationship is "the one." She feels incomplete without a relationship and she is expecting that he will change into the man she wants him to be.

The 75 year old grandmother, who expects here children and grand children to all be with her on every single holiday.

The 23 year old college grad who expects to have all the computer companies knocking at his door to employ him because he was at the top of his graduating class.
Are you ready to forget about what you think you want, and learn more about the endless possibilities that are available to you?

1. Allow change to happen freely.
2. Let go of old ideas.
3. Embrace new ideas, no matter how different they are from yours.
4. Conflicting thoughts are not a threat. They can be a window of opportunity.
5. Go into EVERY situation with an open mind.
6. Follow a new idea or opportunity where IT leads you, NOT where you want it to go.
7. Take a new situation, one day at a time.
8. Be available mentally, emotionally, spiritually for an approach that may be different than yours.
9. Find the positive in EVERY situation that is presented to you. Why was this situation brought to me?
10. Learn the lesson the Universe is tossing your way.
Progress is not possible unless people embrace new ideas, mind sets, skills and expectations to match the opportunities afforded by the introduction of something new to them!

By allowing yourself to be open to ANYTHING that is new to you and giving it a chance, you can find your life going in the direction of new adventures and endless possibilities!

Try it today!

[AlternativeAnswers] May is Arthritis Awareness Month: Herbs and Supplements

Good Morning!

May is Arthritis Awareness Month: Herbs and Supplements

Arthritis, which means "joint inflammation" is a general term for over 100 different joint disorders with symptoms ranging from mild aches and pains to severe swelling and crippling pain. Your joints, remarkable and elaborate hinges, are cushioned by cartilage. They̢۪re held together with various other
tissues, including muscles and tendons. Lubrication is in the form of called synovial fluid, which is released by the synovial lining of the joints. Thinning cartilage between the bone results in the bones rubbing together and becoming inflamed. This, in turn, inflames the surrounding tissues, tendons and muscles.

Supplements

Acidophilus: The normal, healthy colon contains "friendly" bacteria (85% lactobacillus and 15% coliform bacteria). It is the friendly bacterial flora found in yogurt and is essential to the digestive system. When these bacteria are not in balance, then the person may experience bloating, flatulence, constipation, and malabsorption of nutrients. Acidophilus taken as a dietary supplement may help to detoxify and to rebuild a balanced intestinal flora. It is used for the prevention of Candida as well as for treatment. Acidophilus aids the digestion and helps to replace the "friendly" intestinal flora.

Calcium and Magnesium can be effective for pain associated with muscle spasms. Take 500 mgs of each, two-three times per day.

A diet that includes Flaxseed, flaxseed oil and fish oils contain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and decrease pain. Omega-3 fatty acids help lower cholesterol, may help reduce the risk of irregular heart rhythms and may also improve certain factors, like high blood pressure.

Probiotic A probiotic will fortify your intestinal flora, which are essential for proper digestion and nutrient absorption. This is key to good health and a strong immune system. Studies have shown that patients who begin a course of probiotics with fiber a few days prior to surgery are less likely to pick up a post-operative infection during their hospital stays. This demonstrates a strong connection between intestinal flora and immune function. The fiber, which provides the friendly bacteria both food and sanctuary, can be as simple as an apple or banana.

Magnesium is essential for forming synovial fluid which is the joint cushion. Magnesium is important for cell replication, energy production, the transmission of nerve impulses and hormonal activity. Magnesium can be found in brown rice, soy beans, nuts, brewer's yeast, whole wheat flour and legumes. Consider supplementing magnesium with a recommended daily dose of 200 - 400 mg daily. Caution: Magnesium is toxic to people with renal (kidney) problems or AV (atrioventricular) blocks.

Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause fatigue. In one trial, 2,500 -5,000 mcg of vitamin B12 given by injection every two to three days, led to improvement in 50-80% of a group of people with arthritis; most improvement appeared after several weeks of B12 shots. While the research in this area remains preliminary, people with arthritis considering a trial of vitamin B12 injections should consult a nutritional doctor. Oral or sublingual B12 supplements are unlikely to obtain the same results as injectable B12 because the bodys ability to absorb large amounts is relatively poor.

Vitamins B6,: Foods rich in the B vitamins, which help regulate metabolism, are also beneficial, as diets high in sugar tend to burn these vitamins at a faster rate. These foods include wheat germ, yogurt, and liver.

Vitamin C acts primarily in cellular fluid. Vitamin C scavenges free radicals and cleans up waste products. In addition to its anti-oxidative activities, vitamin C benefits many other body functions. Vitamin C is necessary for the synthesis of collagen, which is an important component in the structural make up of blood vessels, tendons, ligaments, and bone. Vitamin C also plays an important role in the synthesis of the neurotransmitters and norepinephrine. Neurotransmitters are critical to brain function and are known to affect mood. Vitamin C, even in small amounts, can protect molecules in the body, such as proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) from damage by free radicals. Vitamin C helps in the fight against free-radical formation caused by pollution and cigarette smoke and also helps return vitamin E to its active form. Take 2,000 - 8,000 mg in divided dosage per day, depending on bowel tolerance.

Herbal Remedies

The medicinal benefits of herbs have been recorded for centuries. Herbs were extensively used to cure practically every known illness and has been documented by Egyptian, Roman, Native American, Persians and Hebrews alike. Many herbs contain powerful ingredients that, if used correctly, can help heal the body. By using herbs in their complete form, the body's healing process utilizes a balance of the ingredients provided by nature.

Herbal medicine is a wonderful solution for pain and pain management. Complications can arise when taking herbal medicine and allopathic drugs internally, which your doctor has prescribed. Great caution should be used especially if you are on blood thinners, diuretics or heart related medication. Consult your doctor with any questions you may have, before taking additional herbs or supplements, internally.
Arnica Suave is a rich blend of quartz silica, amber resin and the pain-relieving power of arnica in a special massage-in suave designed by Andrew for his practice and is a part of his new "Crystal Inspirations" product line.

Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) may decrease the progression of arthritis. This dark brown seaweed is a soothing and nourishing tonic. Caution: avoid in overactive (hyper) thyroid conditions.

Bromelain is a plant-enzyme. Bromelain is not actually a single substance, but a group of protein-digesting enzymes found in pineapple juice and in the stem of pineapple plants. Local swelling is the releasing of histamines in a localized area causes the vasodilation and increased permeability of blood vessels. Bromelain has an anti-inflammatory effect and is a very effective treatment for fibromyalgia. It is recommend taking 200 to 400 milligrams three times a day on an empty stomach at least ninety minutes before or three hours after eating. Discontinue use if you develop any itching or rash.

Cats Claw Bark (Uncaria tomentosa): A great anti-inflammatory herb. Also called Una de Gato, the root and bark of this herb, which has cat-like horns or claws, has been used by since the Inca civilization to treat a variety of health problems, including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, stomach ulcers, many inflammatory disorders, dysentery, and fevers.

Cayenne Pepper (Capsaicin): In liquid tincture form is used internally as an ayurvedic remedy for joint pain, especially when affected by cold and dampness. Consider our topical Arthritis Remedy Blend for decreasing pain and inflammation.

Dandelion Root (Taraxacum Officinale): is recommended for degenerative arthritis. This infamous liver tonic is a safe diuretic herb used for all types of liver problems, promotes good digestion and plays a crucial role in detoxification. This is helpful for chronic and wasting diseases.

Devils Claw: An analgesic and anti-inflammatory. This tuber is used to treat all kinds of arthritis. Dosage: one to two grams, three times daily.

Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium): is very helpful as an anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and emmenagogue reknowned for the treatment of both migraines and arthritis. The dosage is 1 teaspoon of tincture, 20-30 drops at the onset of a migraine. Repeat after 2 hours as needed. For repeated attacks and as a treatment for arhtritis, take one teaspoon every morning.

Ginger: An anti-inflammatory. Ginger has been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine as an anti-inflammatory. Taking 6â€"50 grams of fresh, liquid tincture or powdered ginger per day indicated that ginger might be helpful. Suggested Dosage: 0.5 to 1 mg of powdered ginger daily

Ginger Tonic: Ginger supports healthy digestion, promotes a healthy inflammation response, promotes platelet health and cardiovascular function, and increases the absorption and utilization of other herbs and nutrients.

Ginseng, Siberian: (Eleuthero senticosus) is beneficial especially for rheumatoid arthritis. This famous wonder of the world root is widely used and increase vital energy, works as an adaptogen herb, strengthens the immune system, helps the body cope with side effects from chemotherapy and is a great jet lag tonic. Caution: use for short durations only. May aggravate anxiety, irritability and high blood pressure.

Glucosamine sulfate (GS), a nutrient derived from sea shells, contains a building block needed for the repair of joint cartilage. GS has significantly reduced symptoms of osteoarthritis. All published clinical investigations on the effects of GS in people with osteoarthritis report statistically significant improvement. Most research trials use 500 mg GS taken three times per day. Benefits from GS generally become evident after three to eight weeks of treatment. Avoid if you have any allergic reactions to shell fish.

Glucosamine stimulates the production of the specific elements of cartilage and protects them. It helps your body repair worn cartilage, reduce pain and improve function. Chondroitin attracts fluids into proteoglycans, the molecules dispersed through out the cartilage that give the tissue its shock-absorber quality, and protects the cartilage against breakdown. These are substances the body already produces for itself in small amounts.

Glucosamine is found in almost all tissue; it has a role in the repair and maintenance of joint cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate is a major component of cartilage and is thought to inhibit the enzymes that contribute to the breakdown of cartilage.

Horsetail (Equisetum arvense): attributes its healing power to its high content of silica and zinc. This common weed works well for arthritis, particularly in synergy with dandelion root.

S-adenosyl methionine (SAMe) possesses anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and tissue-healing properties that may help protect the health of joints.SAM-e is derived from methionine, an essential amino acid; it may promote cartilage formation and repair. Glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are usually sold together. In clinical studies, the supplements had to be taken for several weeks before providing any pain relief. Don't forget the truly natural and proven methods for battling osteoarthritis, lose excess weight and exercise.

Turmeric: Turmeric is a traditional ayurvedic remedy and medicine that has been researched for its ability to promote a healthy inflammation response, support cardiovascular health, and support normal cell growth. An effective anti-inflammatory. Dosage: 400 mg three times daily; take on an empty stomach and combine with 1,000 mg of bromelain

Wild Yam Root (Dioscorea villosa): is very beneficial in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. This dried root is known for its anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. This root works in wonderful synergy with White Willow Bark.

White Willow Bark: Anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. White Willow bark has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects. Extracts providing 60â€"120 mg salicin per day are approved for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Although the analgesic actions of willow are typically slow-acting, they last longer than aspirin.

[AlternativeAnswers] New here - Lots of previous certifications but looking to become an alternative health practicioner of Crystal Medicine

Hi everyone! And a special hello to Dr. Andrew!

My name is Merlina. I just joined the Crystal Medicine course as a new student. So far I have accomplished the following: Licensed Angel Therapy Practitioner®, Licensed Past Life Healer® (includes a legal license to practice past life regression hypnotherapy), Certified Angel Practitioner®, Certified Angel Card Reader™, Certified Medium®, Certified Realm Reader®, Licensed Angelic Life Coach®, Certified Advanced Angel Tarot and Oracle Card Reader™, Certified [in] Indigo Awakening Studies™, and Licensed Unicorn Healing Practitioner®.

My true dream and what I've been trying so hard to manifest is becoming a doctor of alternative therapy, and particularly through crystal medicine, crystal therapy, and sound healing using crystal bowls (of which I have a large set and enjoy playing). I am not looking for the initials, D.O, or M.D., after my name. I want to be a doctor, healer and practitioner of the New Age and Metaphysical healing arts, which are technically listed as unrated and not FDA-approved. I'm not concerned with that as I intend to meet with an attorney who can put together the legal paperwork I need to explain my education and protect me against law suits. My Angel Therapy Practitioner license grants me the legal permission to perform clinical psycho-spiritual therapy sessions and this is something I greatly want to integrate into my practice as well.

On top of all this, I am an Indigo Child. I am also a psychic medium. I have been reading for fourteen years and professionally for three years. Although I have my own company which I have launched online as a domain website, Facebook community, and have used VistaPrint to create my business cards, I do not have the capital to get into an office suite yet but intend to after finishing my Crystal Medicine course. I do not currently know how I will achieve this or pay for it but I'm letting that go and letting the universe manifest my dream for me. I do currently work as one of the ten featured readers (we ten are selected out of 450 possible employees and whilst they make $1.00 per minute, we make $1.45 per minute). This would total to around $87 per hour, but of course I don't have constant clientele to make me rich off this data. The company I work for is StarzPsychics.com and they are an ethical company who tests the people they hire and allow employees the largest percentage of money to keep from their earnings than any other site on the web. That is, we keep 50% of our earnings whilst nearly every other website for psychic employment takes around a mean average of 80-85% :( We are also a close family and are friends with many of one another as we have lots of personal interaction via our private Facebook group for Starz's company-hired psychics.

I write for Mystic Living Today Magazine, a magazine that Starz produces, and my most recent article was What Is An Empath? By Merlina D. Davis, which is viewable here if you would like to read it: Mystic Living Today - Bringing Love and Light to the World

Merlina is my pseudonym, however you all are welcome to call me Natalie or whatever you like. I'm a HIGHLY psychic individual with my gifts falling into the categories of Empath, Angelic Medium, Claircogizant, Clairsentient, an intuitive, and a professional in tarot, oracle cards, angel mediumship messages and angelic life coaching, pendulum dowsing, astrology, channeling, using crystals for casting lots, using crystals for psychometry, a medium with regard to angels, guardian unicorns, deceased loved ones, spirit guides, and I am currently a student of numerology, and now Crystal Medicine. I forgot to mention that I have specialties in life purpose, divine life purpose (something that LightWorkers have - both a divine life mission and a global mission), celestial origin, past lives and past life regressions (which sometimes involves hypnotherapy sessions), karma, spirit guides and guardian angels, soul mates, twin flames, and karma. And of course I read tarot and just about every divination system out there except for the I Ching (which I have no problem with but for some reason have just randomly not gotten around to studying that system yet). My page on StarzPsychics (if you'd like to read a biography - and there's also a video of me if you're interested) is located here: Psychic Readings by StarzMerlina on Starz Psychics

So please note that the above is NOT  an advertisement! I am on an official leave of absence right now so that I can pursue my Crystal Medicine course and start putting together a clinical practice. My dream, my plan, and my manifestation is to begin a private practice as a non-conventional and alternative healer and unofficial physician in the healing arts, particularly Crystal Medicine, Angel Therapy, and Unicorn Healing.

My experience with crystals is quite extensive and some of my favorite stones are... Oh yeah, I ordered the "Plus" version of the class and can't wait to see what will be in my Crystal Medicine Kit! (even if they're duplicates of crystals I already have that is still fine and just as exciting)! After all, each crystal, mineral, gemstone, and rock is its own unique being! So here is what's in my collection on short notice - I just dumped everything out of my bag onto my bed and I have the following:

Rainbow Flourite, Blue Aragonite, Apatite, Ametrine, Merlinite, Atlantisite, Kunzite, Prehnite, Phantom Quartz wand, Actinolite Witches Finger, Quantum Quattro, Blue Chalcedony, Anhydrite, Rhodochrosite, Chiastolite fairy crystal, Larimar, Petalite, Auralite 23 large terminated point x3, Apophyllite Natural Pyramidal Points x2,  Pink Lazurine, Blue Topaz, Chrysocolla, Malachite, Seraphinite, Blue Tiger's Eye, Medium Atlantean Record Keeper x2, Small Atlantean Record Keeper x2, Lemurian Record Keeper, Lemurian Seed Crystal, Master Starbrary (Quartz), Danburite/Angel Aura Quartz Starbrary, Lapis Lazuli, Crackled Quartz in the seven colors of the chakras, Aqua Aura double terminated, Aqua Aura double terminated pendulum, Sunstone, Moonstone, Angelite, Celestite, Chevron Amethyst, Aventurine, Amazonite, Howlite, Herkimer Diamond x11, Sapphire (rough), Blue Calcite, Apache Tear, Bloodstone, Red Jasper, Orange Carnelian, Yellow Jasper, Rose Quartz, Blue Lace Agate, Sodalite, Amethyst, Selenite (I have three of these huge 1x1ft squares that I use to clear, cleanse and consecrate crystals with simply by letting them sit on the slabs for a certain amount of time in the moonlight or sunlight), Moss Agate, Rain Forest Agate, Tibetan Tektite. Smokey Quartz, Unakite, Yellow Topaz, White Striped Agate, Black Agate, Red Agate, Pyrope Garnet, Natural Emerald, Nephrite Jade, Snow Quartz, Natural Ruby, Natural Sapphire, Snowflake Obsidian, Pink Opal, Purple Sardonyx, and Turquoise.

I'm sure I missed a whole bunch as I have many other bags besides the one I just went through but this is as far as I'm going to go with my list of the crystals I've accommodated since 2013. Along with the crystals, I have the complete series of Love Is In The Earth by Melody, and most of Hibiscus Moon and Judy Hall's books.

I am SO thrilled and honored to be taking part in this home study course, and to Dr. Andrew - please help me learn how to heal with my crystals so that I may create a flourishing clinical care business that's overflowing with healing, positive energy, and plenty of patients. Being a practitioner and healer of Crystal Medicine is my dream!

Love,

--Natalie/Merlina (Or whatever you want... You will find that I use Merlina as a pseudonym in being an author, on Facebook and other social networking, on forums and as an employee on StarzPsychics.com - the reason is to keep my identity a secret in that I'm Roman Catholic and New Age Alternative Healing is generally not accepted in my faith).

Thank you again and I'm SO happy to be here!
